The Power of a Glimpse

If there’s any one game of my childhood that follows you into adulthood, it’s hide and seek.

It’s the one game where in the game of your own life you are “seeking” after what’s hiding, sometimes in plain sight. It’s not the counting that makes it fun, or even actually finding what you’re seeking. The fun starts with the pursuit but is elevated with a GLIMPSE.

A GLIMPSE of what you’re seeking after. Maybe something you never experienced but something you knew existed.

A SHADOW of what’s coming.

After you see that glimpse it causes you seek even harder, the anticipation fills your lungs as you push yourself further, and faster so you can receive the fullness of what you’re pursuing.

You wanna know a secret?

Faith is having belief in what you can’t see, but also the awareness that what you seek is right in front of you when the timing is right to be revealed.

We sometimes spend so much time, looking for something that we don’t recognize it when it’s right in front of our faces simply because it didn’t look or seem the way we expected.

But when you experience the power of the glimpse, a glimpse of what you’re after, and it’s even better than you could’ve orchestrated in your head, there’s no more doubts that what you saw was just a mirage, or your imagination. The doubt has been removed, the veil has been lifted.

It’s like you’re breathing for the first time, and you can say, “I’m Home.”
